If you’ve got big dreams and goals, chances are you’ve already come across a naysayer or two.
Someone in your family thinks you should ‘just be a little more realistic’. Perhaps your partner doesn’t understand why you are pouring your heart and soul into something that isn’t paying big bucks (yet). Your friends might want you to be like ‘in the good old days’ and everyone around you seems more interested in living weekends instead of living every day.
Sometimes our dreams and goals are too big for the people around us.
It can be lonely, frustrating and worse, it can make you begin to doubt yourself.
There is a simple solution though and no, you do not have to disown everybody in your life or move to another state. It’s true, you might need some new friends, some new inspiration and role models.
The good part, there are many ways to find them (see some of my suggestions below).
I don’t want to be average!
Have you ever heard that you become the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with? Jim Rhone (motivational speaker and mentor to Tony Robbins) totally understood the importance of staying inspired and accountable when he said this.
But sometimes our dreams and goals are too big for our current environment (aka 5 people we spend the most time with). So what do we do?
